Bariatric Surgery - What You Should Know
The decision to undergo bariatric surgery should not be taken lightly. All surgeries involve risks, and not every surgery can offer optimal results. It is important to choose a highly qualified gastric bypass/LAP-BAND® surgeon to perform your procedure, and it is essential to visit our Dallas, Texas bariatric surgery center for routine follow up care after surgery.
Remember, bariatric surgery is not cosmetic surgery, but instead, signals an enormous life change. Following gastric bypass surgery or a LAP-BAND® procedure at our bariatric surgery center in Texas, you must be prepared to embrace an entirely new lifestyle that involves eating less, exercising more, and developing new emotional coping habits. Bariatric surgery should never be looked at as a weight loss quick fix. Rather, it should only be used as a last resort, when other options such as diet and exercise have failed. When patients are well educated and undergo bariatric surgery for the right reasons, it can lead to positive improvements in health and overall quality of living.
If you feel you are capable of making the adjustments necessary to improve your health and your life, you may be a candidate for bariatric surgery at our Texas center.
