Dr. Wade Barker, Weight Loss Surgeon
Dr. Wade Barker began his undergraduate studies at Southwest Texas State University and completed them at Eastern New Mexico University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He also received a Loan Star scholarship and was named an outstanding senior biology student. Dr. Barker completed his medical education, internship, and general surgery residency at Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
Dr. Barker is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is affiliated with the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Association, and American Bariatric Society. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and completed a preceptorship sponsored by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery.
Wade Barker, M.D., is one of a select few weight loss surgeons to perform both the LAP-BAND® procedure and the Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y). Dr. Barker holds privileges at several Dallas County hospitals including: Doctors Hospital, Mesquite Community Hospital, Pinecreek Medical Center, Vista Hospital, Surgery Center of Richardson, and The Medical Center of Mesquite. The friendly, knowledgeable staff at our bariatric surgery center in Dallas is committed to making your experience with us as smooth and comfortable as possible. Dana is our Office Manager; she is in charge of coordinating patient care and ensuring that each patient has a great experience with our office and a positive outcome to remember. She also does all of our insurance billing from the office, so if you ever have any concerns regarding a claim filed, feel free to give her a call. She also takes part in scheduling appointments and procedures when needed. Earline is our Nurse; she is in charge of scheduling all surgeries and procedures at our bariatric surgery center, as well as assisting with precertifications. She also assists Dr. Barker with patient care and is here to answer any questions you may have pre or post surgery. Dale is our Insurance Coordinator; he is in charge of the Pre-Determination process and supporting our patients in receiving approval from their insurance companies. He will sit down with you and go over everything required by your particular plan and submit a packet on your behalf to your insurance carrier.
As you enter our bariatric surgery center in Dallas, you will be greeted by our friendly Receptionists, Tanga (check-in window) and Siomone (check-out window). Both of these ladies take part in scheduling appointments and out patient testing. They also verify insurance benefits prior to your appointment to ensure that you do have coverage for bariatric procedures and will notify you if there is an exclusion with your plan. Each member of our bariatric surgery center staff is eager to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
